The Rules
General
1. Be respectful. Don't be a dick to anyone, because that's just not cool, man. We're chill here at 2A.
2. This forum is rated a solid PG-13. That means no excessively graphic violence and no sex scenes- keep those to yourselves, we don't want that here. Swearing is fine and dandy, and a reasonable amount of violence should be expected. I mean, it's Homestuck.
3. No god-modding, power-playing, or general unfair tomfoolery. That should go without saying.
4. Keep your characters reasonable- your mutant-blooded troll with no horns, a musclebeast body, that's somehow an airdweller, even though that isn't a thing that was ever a thing does not have a shot at being Empress, contrary to your application. That troll is going to be culled immediately, even if by the grace of a motherfucking miracle someone is drunk enough to approve your application. More on character creation down below.
5. Be nice in the chatbox. (Or, well, right now it's the Shoutbox.) No IC RPing please, it clutters up the box and is only really fun for the people involved- the rest of us just have to wait patiently until you're done.
6. You can have as many characters as you can handle, but try to space them out. Don't make twenty apps at once, it's a headache for the mods, and we all know you won't actually be playing all twenty. Good rule of thumb is two weeks between each app.
7. As you can imagine from a Homestuck RP, specifically one set in Alternia, most threads are, by default, death-enabled. Your actions will have consequences. You can tag your threads in the title with "(No Death)" if you don't want to risk it, but if you do that, then try to assassinate the Empress, you're definitely getting your ass handed to you on a platter made of the rest of your dismembered body parts. High-profile characters are a special exception, as well- they can't avoid death in No Death threads. So think before you make a mutant character, a human in Alternia, or a Fuschia blood.
8. For the sake of keeping things uncomplicated and easy to manage, SBURB/SGRUB sessions are considered non-canon to the main RP. There's a section devoted to them, because it wouldn't be Homestuck without them, but we can't have Alternia blowing up every time someone decides to play a dumb game. That said, to make things a little more interesting, whatever your character's Classpect is will still have (small, subtle) effects on them and their abilities, and there may be added features related to that later.
9. One account per character, and one character per account. Everyone can, optionally, have one OOC account, to use in non-RP threads.
10. Have fun, go crazy, murder your friends and enemies, pap all the shooshes, and nak all the crocodiles.
Character Creation
1. First and most important rule- be reasonable.
2. All mutant bloods have red blood. Just gonna go ahead and crush those dreams and get it over with now. All of them. Every single one.
3. Mutants are also extremely rare, and you'd better have a real creative way of getting them past the breeding caverns without being culled.
4. The setting of 2A is before the rise of the Condesce, so lime bloods are still a thing.
5. Speaking of that- very few, if any, canon characters exist yet. Possibly the only ones alive at this point are Doc Scratch and the Handmaiden (through timey wimey bullshitery.) Those are reserved for later, if at all.
6. Make your lusus make sense too. Mutants won't have lusii, landdwellers won't have seadwelling lusii, except for Purplebloods, with very few exceptions.
7. Humans won't have troll blood colors. Trolls won't have human skin colors.
8. Because the Condesce hasn't come into power yet, the adult trolls are still on Alternia, as well as exploring and conquering space. But most of them are still conquering space.
9. Through shenanigans, while Alternia is set in the past, Earth is set in an alternate present in which nobody played SBURB yet. Which means the canon human characters would be alive and kicking, but let's ignore all of them for now, because they don't matter.
10. There are guidelines for troll castes, as far as numbers go, and if we have too many of one blood color, I'm going to have to ask that no new trolls be made with that blood color until we have room. This shouldn't really matter until we have around 100 characters running around, though, so no worries. And I'm willing to be pretty lenient, unless it's an extreme case (out of 100 trolls, 90 are seadwellers, and the rest are highbloods.) Below is a little demographics bit that might be a good guide to a balanced Alternia.

As many lowbloods as you want, really. Go crazy making them. That's Rust, Bronze, Gold, and Lime. Assuming we have 100 troll characters, around 50 should be lowbloods.
There should be less midbloods than lowbloods, but more than highbloods and seadwellers. I'm talking Olive, Jade, and Teal. If we have 50 lowbloods, we should have about about 25 midbloods.
Highbloods are a lot rarer than mid/lowbloods, especially because they have a tendency to kill each other more frequently. Let's say, with 50 low and 25 mid, we should have about 15 highbloods, ideally. That's Cerulean, Indigo, and Purple.
Seadwellers are the most rare by far. Assuming our 90 land dwellers, the remaining 10 seadwellers should be split roughly into 7-8 Violetbloods and 2-3 Fuschiabloods, as Fuschia trolls are the rarest by far. And of the entire 100, we shouldn't have too many mutants.
